NOPL Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations

A big thank you to the Cicero-Plank Road Chamber of Commerce for helping Northern Onondaga Public Library with a ribbon-cutting event to officially open its EV charging stations on June 27!  There are four brand-new charging stations at NOPL Cicero and two at NOPL North Syracuse.  Drivers can pay to charge their vehicles via the FLO app or an RFID card. The EV chargers are a step forward in NOPL’s overall plan to work toward improved sustainability and innovation in ways that support our community.

The Chamber’s Emily and Scott Lacik along with Zach Premo joined Assemblyman Al Stirpe, Meghan Brogan from Senator John W. Mannion’s office, NOPL Director Amanda Travis, and NOPL Board of Trustees President Tom Brooks to cut the ribbon to officially launch the new service — They even brought the ribbon and scissors!

Everyone at NOPL is also grateful to SUNY ESF students Eden Gardner, Spencer Berg, and Bella Francisco, Tom Cross from Cornell Cooperative Extension, Janet Reitz from Master Gardeners of Onondaga County who attended and provided information and materials about sustainability and the environment, OCWA, which provided children’s educational materials, and Ken Elander from Driver’s Village, who provided the demo vehicles.
