Thank you to our special speakers Katrina Patrick from M&T Bank and Carson Yancy from Paychex. As technology advances so does fraud.
Katrinaโs presentation โPreparing against fraud in a digital-first world. Strategies and cutting-edge banking solutions to mitigate fraud risk and help keep your businesses safeโ gave insight into how paper check and ACH (electronic payment & transactions) fraud has evolved and how to protect yourself & your business.
For more information on protecting your banking, contact Katrina at [email protected] or 315-699-2702.
Carson also highlighted the need for caution when handling payroll for your business. Submitting payroll is a perfect opportunity for information on your business and employees to be stolen. Carson sighted many examples of the need for extreme caution when deciding who and how your payroll will be handled. We also heard from a Paychex colleague on retirement planning, 401K and the SECURE Act. This new law outlines 401(k) plans sponsored by small businesses including startup tax credits.
For more information on payroll, retirement and 401(k) SECURE Act, contact Carson at [email protected] or 315-663-8701.
Weโre so pleased to have Chef Brian Lang from Bella Domani present the results of Bella Project. Held on May 21st, the Bella Project was a fundraising BBQ hosted by the Bella Domani with 100% of the proceeds going to the Non-Profits highlighted at our December Luncheon. Chef Brian put Jocelyn in charge of the event and she did a marvelous job. What we didnโt know at the time, was that all the Bella Domani employees that worked that day, did so for free. Wow! What an amazing team. The Bella Project gave out 100% of the proceeds to: Meals on Wheels, Cornerstone Community Fellowship, David’s Refuge, Erin’s Angels, Hunter Hollow Bed & Breakfast, NAVAC, The CanTeen, Rise Above Poverty, Town of Cicero Volunteer Police Department.
